Sheila Waiters, a native Washingtonian, began her career with the Office of Zoning (OZ) in 2004, as the Front Desk Receptionist. In this position, Ms. Waiters was principally responsible for elevating OZ’s telephone customer service scores to number #1 upon all other D.C. Government agencies. In 2008, Ms. Waiters advanced to the position of Zoning Certification Specialist. In this position Ms. Waiters responds to public requests for zoning certification of properties within the district of Columbia by researching the zoning history of the properties and providing the authoritative prevailing zoning on the property. Ms. Waiters also prepares ZC and BZA case records for transmittal to the D.C. Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the OZ, Ms. Waiters worked for 11 years at Howard University. Ms. Waiters majored in Computer Sciences at the University of the District of Columbia, and enjoys planning special events, decorating, shopping and spending time with family and friends.
