16975 - Application of Kathryn Pirnia, pursuant to 11 DCMR 3104.1, for a special exception to allow a rear addition to a single family dwelling under section 223, not meeting the lot area and lot width requirements (section 401) in the R-4 District at premises 654 Independence Avenue, SE (Square 870, Lot 63).

16973 - Application of Bundy Development Corporation, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for a variance from the lot occupancy requirements under section 403, a variance from the rear yard requirements under section 404, a variance from the Downtown Development (DD) district's Chinatown provisions under section 1705, and variances from floor area ratio (FAR) requirements under sections 402 and 1707 and Chapter 17, or in the alternative to a portion of the FAR variances sought, pursuant to 11 DCMR §3104.1, a special exception from the roof structure set back provisions under section 411, to construct an apartment building in the DD/R-5-E District at premises 809 - 813 6th Street, NW (Square 485, Lot 46).

Awasum, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for a variance from the off-street parking requirements under subsection 2101.1, a variance from the rear yard depth requirements under section 404, and a variance from the side yard width requirements under section 405, to allow the new construction of a flat (two-family dwelling) in the R-4 District at premises 757 Park Road, NW (Square 2895, Lot 69).

16948 - Application of Nicholas Perrins, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for a variance from the floor area ratio under section 402, a variance from the lot occupancy requirements under section 403, a variance from the side yard requirements under section 405, a variance from the rear yard requirements under section 404, and a variance from the nonconforming structure provisions under subsection 2001.3, to allow the construction of a rear addition to a single-family dwelling built upon an existing rear deck in the DC/R-5-B District at premises 1830 S Street, NW (Square 133, Lot 116).

16970 - Application of the National Child Rsearch Center, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to continue an existing child development center (last approved by BZA Order No. 16307) with morning and afternoon programs for 120 children at any one time, ages 2 1/2 to 5 years, and 38 staff in all floors of the existing buildings on the site under section 205, and the construction of additions to the existing buildings (the additions to the buildings do not require variance relief) in an R-1-B District at premises 3209 Highland Place, NW (Square 2072, Lot 30 (855 & 866)).

16974 - Application of Tudor Place Foundation, Inc., pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to continue the operation of a museum by a non-profit organization (last approved by BZA Order No. 16477, dated January 14, 2000), under section 217, in the R-1-B District at premises 1644 31st Street, NW and 1670 31st Street, NW (Square 1281, Lots 827 and 830).

16980 - Application of Scott R. Gillis, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to change a nonconforming use (grocery store) to another nonconforming use (artist studio) under subsection 2003.1, and a variance from the requirement that a new nonconforming use is a "neighborhood facility" under subsection 2003.5, in the R-4 District at premises 301 12th Street, SE (1st floor) (Square 991, Lot 25).

16934 - Appeal of Appeal of Advisory Neighborhood Commission, pursuant to 11 DCMR §§ 3100 and 3101, from the administrative decision of the Zoning Administrator to issue a building permit (B445856) for the construction of a single family dwelling allegedly in violation of the side yard requirements under section 405, in the R-4 District at premises 920 and 922 Constitution Avenue, NE (Square 939, Lots 27 & 28).

16977 - Application of Sheridan School, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to allow modifications to an existing private school (last approved by BZA Order No. 15656, dated December 23, 1992) to add 1,200 square feet of gross floor area to an existing building, to modify the site plan to create a student drop off/pick up lane, to reconfigure the parking spaces in front of the school, and to increase the maximum number of students from 215 to 226, under section 206, in the R-2 District at premises 4400 36th Street, NW (Square 1968, Lot 10).

16978 - Application of Gloria Junge, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to construct a one story addition to a single family row dwelling under section 223, not meeting the lot occupancy requirements (section 403) in the R-4 District at premises 1356 North Carolina Avenue, NE (Square 1034, Lot 102).

16981 - Application of Robert Bagnall and Alexander Tang, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for a variance from the lot occupancy requirements under section 403, and a variance from the nonconforming structure requirements under subsection 2001.3, for the construction of a wood deck and stairs, screens, and new masonry wall to a single family dwelling in the R-3 District at premises 2234 California Street, NW (Square 2529, Lot 284).

16938 - Application of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to establish an accessory parking lot having 32 spaces under section 214, and pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, a variance from the requirement that the parking spaces be located within 200 feet of the use to which they are accessory under subsection 214.3, and a variance from the requirement that accessory parking spaces be contiguous to or separated only by an alley from the use to which they are accessory under subsection 214.4, in the R-4 District at premises 1902 and 1906 Vermont Avenue, NW (Square 333, Lots 824, 825, and 827).
