17016 - Application of DC Childrens Advocacy Center, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception from the roof structure provisions under subsection 411, a special exception from the rear yard requirements under subsection 774.2, and pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, a variance from the penthouse set-back requirements under subsection 770.6, to permit the renovation and expansion of a vacant public school building for office use in the HR/C-3-C District at premises 65 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. (Square 625, Lot 806).

16970 - Application of National Child Research Center, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for special exception approval to continue an existing child development center (last approved by BZA Order No. 16307) with morning and afternoon programs for 120 children at any one time, ages 2 ½ - 5 years and 38 FTE staff on all floors of the existing and proposed buildings on the site and for new construction of an addition and new building pursuant to § 205; and pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for variance relief from § 3202.3, in order to allow the construction of an additional principal structure and the use of an additional principal structure, such that more than one principal structure will exist on a record lot and for relief from § 2100.6 which requires the provision of parking spaces for the proposed additional principal structure on the NCRC property, in an R-1-B District at premises 3209 Highland Place, NW (Square 2072, Lot 30 (855 & 866).

17057 - Application of Janet R. McCarthy, - pursuant to 11 DCMR for a special exception to allow a screened porch addition to a single family dwelling under section 223, not meeting the side yard requirements (section 405) in the R-1-B District at premises 5126 Fulton Street, NW (Square 1419, Lot 822).

17063 - Application of Jemal's Liggins, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for a variance from the off-street parking requirements under subsection 2101.1, and a variance from the loading berth requirements under subsection 2201.1, to allow continued general office use in an existing building in the DD/C-2-C District at premises 450 H Street, NW (Square 518, Lot 103).

17055 - Application of Army Distaff Foundation, Inc., - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to allow a four story addition housing 25 nursing rooms accommodating 27 residents under section 219 at the Knollwood Army Retirement Residence, an existing health care facility, in the R-1-A District at premises 6200 Oregon Avenue, NW (Square 2339, Lot 3).

17022 - Application of Edmund Burke School, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to allow an addition to an existing private school and to increase the enrollment from 270 to 320 students and faculty/staff to 70, under section 206, in the R-2 and R-5-D Districts at premises 4101 Connecticut Avenue, NW and 2955 Upton Street, NW (Square 2243, Lots 67 and 68).

17040 - Application of William C. Miller, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for a variance from the accessory structure height limitation (15 feet) under subsection 2500.4, to allow an existing detached garage serving a single family dwelling in the WHOD/R-1-B District at premises 4417 Garfield Street, NW (Square 1614, Lot 59).

17060 - Application of Faud Alykhan, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3103.2, for a variance from the nonconforming structure provisions under subsection 2001.3, to allow a second story deck addition to a single family row dwelling not meeting the lot occupancy requirements (section 772) in the C-1 District at premises 2609 P Street, NW (Square 1265, Lot 95).

17061 - Application of Henry McKinnon, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to allow a rear addition to a single family semi-detached dwelling under section 223, not meeting the lot occupancy requirements (section 403) in the R-3 District at premises 2708 P Street, NW (Square 1261, Lot 2).

17054 - Appeal of Henry Sailer, et al, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3100 and 3101, from the administrative decision of the Zoning Administrator in the issuance of Building Permit No. B448548, to Brian Logan dated January 29, 2003, for the construction of a new single-family detached dwelling. Appellant alleges that the Zoning Administrator erred by issuing the building permit without applying the applicable provisions (subsection 1567, Lot Occupancy and Ground Coverage Restrictions, subsection 1568, Tree Removal Restrictions, etc.) of the Chain Bridge Road/University Terrace Overlay (CBUT). The CBUT/R-1-A zoned subject premises is located at 3101 Chain Bridge Road, NW (Square 1427, Lot 870).

17068 - Application of Eric and Holly Takamura, - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to allow a two story rear addition to a single-family row dwelling under section 223, not meeting the lot occupancy requirements (section 403), in the R-4 District at premises 622 A Street, NE (Square 867, Lot 93).

17065 - Application of GAP, Inc., - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to allow a child development center (140 children and 28 employees) under section 205, (last approved by BZA Order No. 16153, dated October 11, 1996) in the R-5-E District at premises 3636 16th Street, NW (Woodner Apartment Building) (Square 2624, Lot 831).

17067 - Application of House of Mercy, Inc., - pursuant to 11 DCMR § 3104.1, for a special exception to allow an increase in the number of staff (from 52 to 85) and an addition to the building serving an existing child development center under section 205 (last approved by BZA Order No. 15585, dated January 31, 1992), in the R-4 District at premises 2000 Rosemount Avenue, NW (Square 2618, Lot 807).
